I provide a confidential, inclusive, judgment-free space, where you can share what’s bothering you, understand its roots, and change it.
I am Liya and I work as a clinical and counseling psychologist. In this, I support people to identify, understand, and follow their needs. The modalities I use are primarily ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), CI (compassionate inquiry), and MSC (mindful self-compassion), with some techniques from other approaches as well. My feeling is that it’s important to use the right tools for the person I work with, rather than asking the person to conform to a specific method.
My practice is entirely online, the sessions being held over Zoom. That being said, it is a priority at all times to ensure the privacy and safety of the people I work with. So my virtual office is set up in a way that nobody can hear or have access to what we discuss in sessions.
At the base of every successful therapeutic process is that you feel safe, seen, heard, understood, respected, valued, and I make these the guiding principles of my work. They help me connect to the people I work with and I find a lot of joy in my career.
Experience
My formal education is a BA in psychology, followed by an MA in clinical and counseling psychology. I’ve had my private practice since 2020. During some of that time, I also worked as a facilitator and integration therapist in expanded state-of-consciousness retreats. My prior experience is in counseling and mental health journalism. I am trained in ACT, CI, MSC, and motivational interviewing.
Some of the topics I support people with are stress and anxiety, relationship struggles, big life decisions/changes, avoidance and indecision, conflict resolution, depression, phobias, adult ADHD, discrimination, loneliness, anger issues.
